Bute Paste is used or the relief of inflammatory conditions associated with the musculoskeletal system in horses. Each 60 gram tube contains 12 grams of phenylbutazone.
The recommended dosage of Phenylbutazone Paste is 1-2 grams per 500 lbs body weight daily, given orally. It is usually recommended that a relatively high dose is given for the first 48 hours, and then reduced gradually to a maintenance dose. Many chronic conditions will respond to Phenylzone therapy, but discontinuance of treatment may result in recurrence of symptoms.
